HOW YOU CAN USE MORNING PAGES TO DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE, PATH & DIRECTION! with Julia Cameron
Here's Everything I Learned From Doing Morning Pages Every Day
Watch a movie that feels special (either one you've been wanting to see for a long time, a comforting favorite from childhood, or a work by a filmmaker you admire)
Listen to an entire album while going on a walk, or while sitting on the couch enjoying a drink
Virtually attend a concert
(if no live ones are available, by watching footage of one on Youtube or Netflix)
Spend an afternoon (or evening) baking something delicious
Finger-painting
Before doing groceries, making a pit stop to a haunted location, like a house or a building, after reading about it (or while listening about it on a podcast)
As someone who paints... I want to experiment with some automatic painting, I find mixing paints sorta therapeutic and then just add color to canvas by feel... just painting for the sake of painting and not to create anything.
Spending an hour listening to jazz and rain noises (so many videos on YouTube) and reading my book on the couch with a cup of tea or hot chocolate
Making a mood board of aesthetic, inspiring pictures (digital or printed)
Collage using scraps from magazines based on themes or color palettes (my dad has so many national geographic magazines he’s letting me use)
Going for a mindful walk in a park, notice details, maybe listen to a guided meditation, bring a book or journal.
Write handwritten letters to my friends, include small drawings, a letter, a friendship bracelet or necklace you made?
I have some rubber linocut blocks, knive and ink and I’ve been meaning to make some of my own stamps for a while.
Visit a virtual museum/gallery (https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2020/mar/23/10-of-the-worlds-best-virtual-museum-and-art-gallery-tours)
Take an online tap dancing class (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9D91M_Qa3E)
Spend a whole hour virtually going to a theme park on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLayUAe_B5b44dbm-Gq2zJNFWmyRjbckaw
taking a scenic drive (especially now to see the fall colors) occasionally stopping to take photographs
making embroidery hoops (maybe inspired by my favorite musicians/songs because i have seen some really cute ones in the tswift subreddit lol)
️making tonics and infusions with herbs and adaptogens and learning more about herbalism
i don’t live close enough to the ocean for a day trip but driving to a nearby lake and sitting at the edge (there’s never anyone else around)
doing a long in-depth tarot reading for myself and digging into the meanings of the cards and tarot overall
Color: I have a pack of crayons, and printed out some still life coloring pages.
Photography: Take a walk through one of my fav trails and photograph the trees. I haven't seen the trees on that trail since end of summer
go through photographs and scan/collage them together
deep dive into your horoscope and learn more about aspects
learn a new movement - tiktok, pole, yoga flow
list out video ideas and how to make them
collect flowers on a walk and dry them out
pair up with someone to get on a call for a space to blurt out any creative ideas you’ve ever had
